SyAnne Bleu was born in 1955 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Shortly after her birth, her parents, both professors of French Literature, left Canada where her father assumed a tenured position at the University of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. While there her parents met Tallulah's parents, as her father was also teaching at the University. The two grew up together as playmates.

When in 1959, "Poppa Doc" Duvalier was first elected as president of the Republic of Haiti, the political climate began to change. By 1964, Duvalier has seized control of the country and was terrorizing the educated elite of Haiti with his dreaded "boogeymen" the Tonton Macoute. When the University was ordered closed, SyAnne's and Tallulah's families fled under cover of night through the mountains, and into the Dominican Republic. From there, SyAnne's family returned to Canada, and Tallulah's family returned to France. SyAnne and Tallulah lost contact with each other over the decades.

One day while trying to find a good source for collage imagery, especially vintage images, for her artwork, SyAnne stumbled upon Tallulah's website. Realizing that the Tallulah that own the website was none other than her old friend from Haiti, Tallulah and SyAnne re-established their friendship through their art. Although Tallulah and SyAnne live about 3,000 miles away from each other, through the wonders of technology, they are able to conceive, collaborate, and produce some of the works of art that are now offered on this website.
