  • Kaolin

  • A pure clay, sometimes used as a filler, very much like and often the same as China clay or pipe clay.

  • Kauri

  • An expensive fossil resin from New Zealand. At one time, Kauri was called copal and highly valued. It is now absent or rare on the market. See Copal Varnish

  • Kolinsky brush

  • The finest watercolor brush available, made from the tail of the kolinsky, known as Siberian mink. No other hair has the durability and springiness. Most commonly found under the name of 'Red Sable.
