Miss Fernande JA, Jean Agelou's Model Paris, France
Miss Fernande was a beautiful, flamboyant model for Jean Agelou, JA,
a well-known Parisian photographer of portraits, nudes and landscapes.
Our only empirical evidence that her name was Fernande is a several nude postcards that
surfaced bearing a business-type printing of her name and hotel address on the back.
One of these stamped postcard series sold for a staggering $260.00 several years ago.
There were many young women in Paris during this time period using the name 'Fernande'.
Several of the most famous,Fernande Olivier
and
Fernande Barrey, have been linked to the
beautiful woman of postcard fame but the fact is no information has surfaced to conclusively
connect either of these ladies to this 'Miss Fernande'.
There is very little evidence that Miss Fernande even existed with the exception of the postcards and an art magazine
"L'Etude Academique" in which she appears dated 1909-1912.
Miss Fernande may remain a beautiful mystery lost in a beautiful time forever.
We may never know conclusively who she really was and just be happy for the wonderful
images she left behind.
